I feel like there should still be occasions where this is at least an option to aid a deck (outside of 15 card highlander)

For The Mycosynth Gardens, it's ability is that it can turn itself into an artifact you control, which isnt something all decks - or even most decks - will want, but in the right deck is super powerful

1) The initial pitch for Surtland involved the realm balancing precariously in the center of an enormous giant's face

Equip abilities being used at instant speed and paying zero for the first equip ability are both awesome, but being able to bring back an Equipment from the graveyard and put it onto the battlefield when it enters the battlefield is really what pushes it over the top

Like in Modern, this isn't better than Dragon's Claw for the mirror since it's an easily killable creature
