Like most Fantasy Flight Games, this is a game from the Living Card Era which I think is perfect for a cooperative deck-building game

It's pretty useful in decks that want sacrificing to occur but, aside from that, I don't know how powerful this ability is

Even with 38 lands and 8 mana rocks, Grixis decks struggle to cast those 8+ mana spells, and this deck is chock-full of spells that cost 6 or more mana to cast
