Vintage Cast Metal Blacksmith baptist JM - 020123 - 105641c. 1920s 1930s; Painted castmetal doorstop depicting a foundry molder tipping a ladle into an ingot mold. A stout slice of early industrial Americana, this figural doorstop shows a barechested workman in blue apron midpour, the ladle accented in "hot iron" red. Made from a fine sandcast body for detail, and handapplied polychrome for the color. In the early 20th century, firms such as Hubley, Arcade, Albany Foundry, and Bradley & Hubbard popularized
