Like my Colorado Flag I didn't want to paint the flag like the original image

I incorporated a lot of metallic paints in this piece to try and capture some of the the brilliant sunsets I've seen in this beautiful state

I painted the original Florida Still Waters Run Deep over the nautical chart of the Straits of Florida using thin washes of acrylic paints to allow the place names to show through including south Florida

I traced out the design in pencil over the map then painted all the colors at the same time using a wet on wet technique allowing the colors to mix and blend
