I knew from previous work that when I use the acid over the metal leaf it will burn through it in places

in fact if you look closely you can see where I used a Q-tip to remove some of the paint so they would be more visible

I painted this at the same time I painted the "Arizona Moonlight Saguaros" If you look at them both you'll see the similarity in the  colors
