Professor Dr. h.c. Walter Tiemann KSmallPubs there would be no KatherineOn September 12, 1951, Walter Tiemann died in Leipzig after a long illness. With him, the light of one of the most powerful figures in 20th century German book and type design went out. Germany still could boast about its excellent type and book designers among the younger generation, but after the passing of Peter Behrens, Rudolf Koch, E. R. Weiss, and now Walter Tiemann, the light was a little dimmer. This book was printed as a tribute in 1953.
