Maisha 2021 RSD Whether raging in an antagonisticSadao Watanabe's "Maisha" showcases refined mid '80s jazz funk with exceptional rhythm section work by drummers John Robinson Harvey Mason and bassists Nathan East and Jimmy Johnson. Unlike contemporary fusion albums, it features restrained production without excessive synthesizers or effects, instead emphasizing sophisticated groove construction that shares more musical DNA with Michael Jackson's "Thriller" than typical fusion acts of the era.
