Scarce little map when found so attractive. Issued 1788, Toulouse, France. Note the undefined island off the coast of Kamchatka called "Company's Land", a map which appears for decades but doesn't actually exist. A visually superior example, clean, lovely hand coloring, overall map displays a pleasing age patina. Sheet size c. 6 1 2" H x 8" W. Engraved area c. 5 3 8" H x 6 3 4"
