Deshkan Ziibiing is the original name for our community of Chippewas of the Thames First Nation. The term 'unceded' when used in a First Nation or Original Peoples context refers to those lands never surrendered or ceded to another sovereign which means this location in southwestern Ontario, beside a river (referred to on
